Sustainability in Our Hotels

Our commitment to eco-friendly practices extends passed our company to our managed hotels. We facilitate the implementation of sustainability programs developed by Marriott, Hilton and Radisson at every level of our operations. While we’ve highlighted only a few key initiatives below, our ongoing efforts extend far beyond, reflecting our unwavering dedication to environmental stewardship.

Embracing Diversity and Breaking Agism

In response to Lithuania’s ageing population, Hilton Garden Inn Vilnius City Centre has taken proactive steps to support the well-being and inclusion of elderly individuals by offering them meaningful employment opportunities within the hotel.

One such department is the breakfast service, where genuine care and attention towards guests are paramount. They provide part-time positions to older employees with early morning shifts, allowing for a fulfilling work-life balance.

Three remarkable colleagues, Nelly, Tamara, and Galina have exemplified the success of this initiative with their unwavering dedication and positive demeanor. As true ambassadors of Hilton hospitality, they radiate warmth and joy, consistently earning praise from the guests and serving as inspirations to younger teammates.

Commitment to Data Privacy and Protection

At our hotels, safeguarding the privacy and security of our guests’ data is paramount. We understand the importance of maintaining the confidentiality of personal information and have implemented robust measures to ensure its protection.

Our comprehensive approach to data privacy encompasses state-of-the-art security systems, access controls, and regular staff training on best practices for handling sensitive data.

To further demonstrate our commitment to data protection, we conduct annual audits in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) standards. These audits not only ensure that our systems and procedures are in line with regulatory requirements but also serve as a proactive measure to identify and address any potential vulnerabilities or risks. Additionally, we employ encryption technologies to safeguard data during transmission and storage, further bolstering our defense against unauthorized access or breaches.

Furthermore, our commitment to data privacy extends beyond mere compliance; it is ingrained in Apex Alliance’s company culture. We continuously assess and enhance our security protocols to stay ahead of emerging threats and evolving regulatory requirements. Guests can rest assured that their privacy is our top priority, and we spare no effort in upholding the highest standards of data protection across all aspects of our operations.

Carbon Neutral Meetings

As part of our commitment to sustainability, we’re proud to offer the Carbon Neutral Meetings program at Hilton, which not only supports sustainable development initiatives but also reduces emissions and safeguards the environment. Through this program, we have the capability to neutralise CO2 emissions generated by our customers by procuring carbon offsets that fund projects dedicated to carbon reduction efforts.

Hilton has developed the Meeting Impact Calculator. The calculator uses each property’s unique consumption data to create a custom report detailing the predicted carbon, energy, water, and waste generated by a meeting or event. Implementing our new Meet with Purpose checklist is the first step in planning a more sustainable meeting or event by reducing the carbon footprint of the meeting. Then, by considering carbon credits, the remaining actualized carbon emissions from the meeting or event can be offset.

In 2023, Hilton Garden Inn Vilnius City Centre recorded 12 events, resulting in significant conservation achievements, including the preservation of 350,000 litres of water and the reduction of 2,033 kilograms of waste.

Environmentally Friendly Heating and Cooling Systems

At our hotels, we prioritise suppliers that utilise renewable and clean energy sources to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and decrease dependence on non-renewable energy sources.

We aim to be energy-efficient, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly. It plays a crucial role in reducing the carbon footprint of our managed hotels.

Food Waste Initiatives

In an effort to reduce food waste, the chefs at our managed hotels are constantly exploring new techniques of re-using ingredients to their full potential.

We are piloting AI-driven solutions to optimise food waste calculations. Our goal is to accurately measure waste, leading to significant reductions in disposal costs and more efficient resource management. We are continually refining these innovations for widespread implementation.

Reusable Water Solutions

Courtyard by Marriott Floreasca has developed reusable glass bottles, which are filled with purified water – an eco-conscious solution that helps minimise waste and promotes a healthier planet.

All guests receive them in their rooms and can get free refills upon request. Additionally, guests can also buy the bottle as a souvenir or to use it as a reusable water bottle.

Efficient Energy Management for Utilities

The EXERGIO project is dedicated to optimising energy efficiency and sustainability for utility providers.

By leveraging advanced data analytics, smart technologies, and innovative energy management strategies, EXERGIO aims to minimise energy waste, reduce operational costs, and improve the overall environmental footprint of utility services. The project focuses on integrating renewable energy sources, optimising distribution networks, and enhancing real-time monitoring to ensure a more efficient and sustainable energy supply.

With a commitment to promoting best practices and cutting-edge solutions, EXERGIO supports utility companies in delivering reliable, cost-effective, and eco-friendly services to their customers.

Digital Registration System

Hilton Garden Inn Vilnius City Centre utilises the Sign On Tab digital registration system. This innovative solution allows guests to seamlessly sign registration cards with digital signatures and review invoices before making payments via conveniently placed screens throughout the hotel.

Beyond convenience, this system reflects the hotel’s commitment to sustainability. By reducing paper waste, Hilton Garden Inn Vilnius City Centre aims to save approximately 50,000 sheets of paper annually, along with the associated toner.

Electric Vehicle Charging Stations

As part of our ongoing green initiatives, we are installing six electric vehicle (EV) fast-charging stations on Hampton by Hilton Riga Airport’s premises.

This effort not only supports guests who drive electric vehicles but also aligns with our commitment to promoting cleaner transportation and reducing carbon emissions.

By providing convenient access to EV charging, we encourage guests and staff to consider environmentally friendly travel options.
